A spot that is perfect on a dry September afternoon can sit behind a four-foot drift in January, and a unit the pump truck cannot reach is out of service no matter how well it is heated.

Put the trailer's approach into the site snow plan by name. Whoever plows needs the pump truck route and the pad around the unit on the list, not as an afterthought once the main lanes are open. Plow snow away from the unit rather than into a berm against the skirting, which blocks access and traps meltwater that refreezes at the door.

Then the human details. Winter shift changes happen in the dark at both ends of the day, so lighting on the approach is a requirement, not a nicety.
