We’re excited to share that Stahla Services was back on the airwaves with Eric Dye on the Enterprise Radio (EPN) podcast! Our Co-owner, Grant Stahla, had another fantastic conversation, this time shining a spotlight on another one of our most popular and versatile units: the 4-Stall Restroom Trailer.

It’s always a privilege to discuss how we provide premium comfort and hassle-free solutions for events and job sites nationwide. If you couldn’t tune in, we’ve got you covered with all the key insights Grant shared about this impressive trailer.

What We Discussed: The In-Demand 4-Stall Restroom Trailer

Grant kicked things off by noting that our 4-Stall Restroom Trailers are a close second in popularity only to our 2-stall models. They strike a perfect balance for many situations, and understanding their capacity is crucial for a seamless experience.

Elevating Your Events with Ample Comfort

For those larger gatherings where you want to ensure no one is waiting, the 4-stall unit truly delivers:

  • Guest Capacity: Grant explained, “For an event, you’re gonna want one stall for about every…75 people. So that’s gonna be a four stall restroom. Trailers gonna support up to 300 people for your event.”
    • Grant’s Pro Tip from the Show: “If you have a lot of alcohol at your event, then you might want to scale that number down to one stall per fifty people, which would be 200 people.” It’s all about ensuring that premium experience.
  • Event Duration: This capacity generally holds for events up to six hours. “If it goes over six hours, then you’re going to want to scale that number back down,” Grant advised, emphasizing the importance of matching capacity to usage.

Powering Productivity on Commercial Sites

When it comes to keeping your job sites running efficiently, the 4-stall offers robust support:

  • Worker Support: “For a job site or construction? You’re gonna want one stall per 15 people. So a 4 stall could support up to 60 people per day at a job site,” Grant shared. This can fluctuate based on shifts, but it’s a solid guideline for a typical 8-hour workday.

Tailoring the Solution: How We Help You Decide

Eric Dye asked how companies typically figure out their needs. Grant reiterated our customer-centric approach: “A lot of times they’ll just call or e-mail in and and give us their situation and we’re gonna go off of those rough numbers.” But it doesn’t stop there. “Of course, we’re gonna ask them different questions…if it’s more of an upscale event and they wanna have less people per stall we’ll help them adjust accordingly.”

For the 4-stall, Grant mentioned, “We’re bringing those two events anywhere from as little as 100 people, you know, up to about 350 people, Max.”

Real-World Impact: Where 4-Stall Trailers Make a Difference

Grant provided some great examples of our 4-Stall Restroom Trailers in action:

  • Vibrant Events: “We support in Omaha, NE. We’ll do the College World Series and we’ll have lots of different restroom trailers out at different locations and tailgates…maybe it’s a bank sponsoring tailgate.”
  • Commercial Projects: “They’re building a data center or you’re building a big construction project where you have sort of a smaller grouping of people…maybe it’s a smaller electrical subcontractor is gonna get a four-star restroom trailer for their employees specifically.” They’re also perfect for supporting a group of office trailers.
  • Facility Emergencies & Smaller Scale Relief: “If a building has their water go out like say it’s an Advance Auto Parts or it’s a small neighborhood grocery store, they bring a restroom trailer, typically a four-stall…to make it so that they could keep their their building open.” While larger trailers are common for major disaster relief, a 4-stall can be ideal for smaller man camps or remote facilities.

“It’s just a great amount of stalls,” Grant added. “The sizing is perfect as well…you can bring it to a location with a normal pickup truck and it doesn’t take up too much room.”

Understanding the Investment: 4-Stall Rental and Purchase Costs

Transparency in pricing is something we value at Stahla Services. Grant laid out the figures for the EPN audience:

  • Purchasing New: Typically around $60,000.
  • Event Rentals: Generally between $1700 and $2400. This usually includes delivery on a Thursday or Friday for a weekend event, with pickup Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.
  • Long-Term Commercial Rentals (per 28 days/month):
    • 1 Month: Approximately $6400.
    • 2-5 Months: Drops significantly to $4300.
    • 6+ Months: Around $4000.
    • 18+ Months: Can be as low as $3400.

The Rent vs. Buy Decision for a 4-Stall Trailer

The question of renting versus buying is always pertinent. Grant noted, “That 18 month pricing [at $3400/month]…actually ends up being $61,000 and the new purchase price is about $60,000. So your year and a half long rental is about the same price as purchasing one new.”

His advice? “If you’re looking to rent two years or more, you might look into purchasing.” However, he also highlighted why most clients choose to rent: “That’s why people choose rental companies because like we at Stahla Services can handle all the electrical and plumbing and HVAC problems…and we can help facilitate the cleaning and restocking.” For 99% of clients, renting offers the hassle-free, comprehensive service they need.

Deep Dive: Specifications of Our 4-Stall Restroom Trailer

For those needing the exact details, Grant provided a comprehensive overview:

    • Box Length: 14 feet 6 inches (19 feet with tongue)
    • Width: 6 feet 6 inches (9 feet 3 inches with steps down)

    • Fresh Water: 200 gallons (ample for events without a water spigot)
    • Wastewater: 450 gallons

    • Empty: 5,300 lbs

Key Features & Specifics Clients Ask About

Grant mentioned that beyond capacity, clients often inquire about:

  • Stall Layout: The preference for four individual, private rooms is strong.
  • Power and Water: The self-contained nature and easy hookups are major pluses.
  • Usage Numbers: Reconfirming the 300-person event capacity or 60-person commercial capacity.

The Technicals: Plumbing, Electrical, and Transportation Made Easy

Understanding the operational aspects is key for our clients:

  • Plumbing: The 200-gallon fresh water tank means we can bring water to remote locations. The 450-gallon wastewater tank provides plenty of capacity.
  • Electrical: “The electrical systems on this trailer is really neat because they’re configured in a way that it’s 15 amps, 110 volts connections,” Grant shared. Typically, two connections are needed in summer (for A/C) and three to four in winter (for the four individual stall heaters and one in the mechanical room).
  • Transportation & Setup: “This trailer weighs about 5300 lbs, so you’re gonna want at least a three quarter ton pickup to haul it.” It uses a 2 5/16th ball and standard 7-way plug. At 19 feet long for towing, it’s a “pretty medium sized trailer…not too big or not too small.”

More Than Just Trailers: Our Commitment

As shared at the end of the podcast, Grant and Erin Stahla are passionate about redefining portable sanitation with a business built on care for people, excellence in service, and faith-driven leadership. Their journey is about building strong relationships and making a positive impact, including their support of Love Justice International.

This commitment to service and integrity is at the heart of everything we do at Stahla Services.
