We’re thrilled to announce that Stahla Services was once again featured on the Enterprise Radio (EPN) podcast with host Eric Dye! This time, our Co-owner, Grant Stahla, dove deep into the specifics of another crowd-pleaser in our fleet: the versatile and spacious 8-Stall Restroom Trailer.

It’s always a pleasure discussing how we bring premium comfort and seamless sanitation solutions to events, job sites, and emergency situations across the nation. If you missed the live conversation, don’t worry – we’ve compiled all the essential insights Grant shared about this impressive unit right here.

What We Discussed: The Adaptable 8-Stall Restroom Trailer

Grant kicked off by expressing his fondness for this particular model: “The 8 station restroom trailer is one of my favorite trailers. It’s so adaptable, we bring it to events all the time.” It’s designed for situations requiring a bit more capacity than our smaller units, bridging the gap for medium-to-large scale needs.

Handling Larger Crowds: Events & Commercial Capacity

Understanding who benefits most from the 8-stall and its capacity is key:

  • Elevating Medium-to-Large Events: When you need to comfortably accommodate several hundred guests, the 8-stall shines.
    • Guest Capacity: Grant explained the guidelines: “For events it’s about 1 stall per 75 guests based on a four hour event with no alcohol there. So then doing the math on the 8 station that would be 600 people that it could support…”
    • Grant’s Pro Tip from the Show: “If you’re gonna have alcohol there, that’s fine. You just reduce that rate down to about 50 people per stall. So then you are looking at 400 people.”
    • Event Duration: These numbers are based on a typical 4-hour event timeframe. Longer events might require additional capacity or servicing.
  • Powering Productivity on Busy Commercial Sites & Handling Emergencies: For job sites with larger crews or unexpected facility issues, the 8-stall provides robust support.
    • Worker Support: “Typically you’re gonna be looking at one stall per 15 workers. So for the 8 station restroom trailer, you’d be looking at about 120 people per day that trailer could support,” Grant shared.
    • Retail & Facility Emergencies: Grant noted, “Well, sometimes if a retail store has their water main go off like Costco or Target or Walmart or Chick-fil-A… Then we’ll bring an 8 stall restroom trailer to be able to support the customers and the employees.”

Tailoring the Solution: When is the 8-Stall the Right Fit?

Determining the ideal trailer involves understanding the specific needs. The 8-stall is often the go-to when:

  • Event Size: “Anytime there’s, you know 500, 600 or 700 people, we bring that out and it can support more of that medium sized event,” Grant stated.
  • Upgrading/Downgrading: “If you have less people than that at your event, you might be looking at a 4 stall. If you have more people, maybe you’re looking at a 10 stall or maybe you’re looking at an 8 station plus a 4 stall.” We help clients find that perfect balance.

Considering an 8-Stall? Let’s Talk!

Real-World Impact: A Memorable 8-Stall Story

Eric asked for a standout example, and Grant immediately thought of high-profile events:

  • PGA Tour Festivals: “When I think of eight stations, some of my core memories are are at events. So maybe at a PGA Tour festival… Typically there’s gonna be multiple 8 station restaurant trailers there… we have a lot of eight stations there able to support the different groupings of people, whether that’s a vip tent or if it’s supporting the different holes on the golf course… people that really appreciate that eight station restroom trailer.” This highlights its ability to handle large crowds and provide a premium experience even at prestigious events.

Understanding the Investment: 8-Stall Rental and Purchase Costs

We believe in transparent pricing. Grant detailed the costs associated with the 8-Stall Restroom Trailer:

  • Purchasing New: Approximately $100,000, plus or minus.
  • Event/Short-Term Rentals (Example): Weekly pricing is around $6900. (Note: Specific event pricing often varies based on duration, location, and service needs).
  • Long-Term Commercial Rentals (per 28 days/month):
    • 1 Month (28 days): Approximately $9700.
    • 2-5 Months: Drops to about $7600 per month.
    • 6+ Months: Around $6300 per month.
    • 18+ Months: Can be as low as $5200 per month.
  • Potential Add-On Costs:
    • Waste Tank Pump Outs: $350 – $450 per service.
    • Transportation: ~$4.00 – $5.00 per loaded mile.
    • Additional Cleaning/Restocking: ~$200 per service (if no janitorial crew on site).
    • Generator Rental: ~$400 for a weekend event (larger towable needed for long-term).
    • Fresh Water Tank Fill: ~$200 – $300 per fill (if no water source available).

The Rent vs. Buy Decision for an 8-Stall Trailer

The rent-versus-buy question becomes relevant with longer-term needs. Grant observed, “If you’re gonna rent it for a year and a half or two years, that’s about the same price as the purchase price.”

His insight? While purchasing might seem economical for multi-year projects, renting often remains the preferred choice. “Of course, there’s other costs, like breakage and management of that trailer so we do have a lot of customers that rent from us that need it for a couple years.” Renting through Stahla Services means we handle the logistics, maintenance, potential repairs, cleaning, and restocking – offering a comprehensive, hassle-free solution.
